Embracing of hope
easy to say, hard to do
it shape shifts through life
COVID has taught us
elusiveness of control
it is what it is
Petals of velvet
especially decadent
in bright, bold crimson
Spiraling inward
getting closer to center
the third eye opens
Tiny yet mighty
yellow blossom claims her space
fearless, courageous
Monarch visitor
paused to rest in the garden
safe travels, my friend
Snowballs of summer
reach to touch the window pane
cool white on hot day
Internal beauty
cracked open like a geode
watermelon star
Recalling childhood
peek-a-boo and hide and seek
nature’s playfulness
A secret garden
place of stillness, protection
hummingbird joins me
Branches sway and shake
leaves twist and dance with the wind
eager for a storm
Little white mushroom
escaped the lawnmower blade
live in the moment
Aromatic leaves
harvested before the rain
breathing in basil
Knife slices smoothly
crisp, cool circles emerging
soon to be pickles
A gift from the sea
tiny, delicate, complete
grateful to receive
Storm clouds overhead
thunder echoes but no rain
sun claims victory
A crowd of kernels
stacked one upon another
waiting for butter
A bowl of summer
rosy orbs wrapped in velvet
two napkins needed
Garden path of stone
photobombed by daylily
bold and beautiful
Battered by the waves
reformed and reimagined
nature’s resilience
