Bees and butterflies
milkweed nurtures and sustains
monarch chrysalis
View from a hammock
beneath a leaf canopy
grateful for this time
Global pandemic?
That will happen when pigs fly
Uh-oh flying pigs
Nature’s precision
the Fibonacci sequence
nothing left to chance
Pandemic road trip
Pennsylvania rest stop
Dreaming of Napa
Sitting and breathing
swirl of emotions collide
entertain them all
red carpet entrance
raindrops dazzle and sparkle
hummingbird heaven
Slender and graceful
piroette and tour jeté
daylily ballet
Social distancing
with a surprise visitor
sharing my backyard
Mindfulness lessons
focus plus humility
in life and in golf
Aromatic leaves
scent my hands as I harvest
still warm from the sun
Observing, breathing
life during a pandemic
one hundred haiku
Buds to withered blooms
multigenerational
family of lilies
Intricate leaf art
positive and negative
an insect’s design
Grateful for ice cubes
filling a tall frosty glass
iced tea with lemon
Peeking through lattice
tendrils weaving in and out
turn to face the sun
Solitary bloom
heralding a new season
here comes summertime
Stalks of red and green
waiting to become dessert
rhubarb crisp tonight
Hunting for prizes
hide and seek with strawberries
totally worth it
G: Glove…notice the ritual of putting the glove on your hand. Can you feel each of the fingers, does the glove feel loose, tight? Stretch and close your hand with focus on the movement. Notice how this hand feels in comparison to the hand that is ungloved
O: Observe the breath. By dropping the breath low into the belly, your physiological fight or flight reaction will be roadblocked. Try to expand your belly slowly on the in-breath and deflate it on the out breath.
L: Listen…notice sounds and sensations, internal and external. this helps you step away from rumination or expectation
F: Focus with a sense of curiosity, not judgement. What do you notice about the ball in front of you, your club, the grass or tee. Allow yourself to attend to what you notice in this moment.
