Relieve Holiday Stress by Taking Care of YOU...Join Pam Ressler for a day long mindfulness meditation retreat. This day will be a structured retreat, with extended times of silent meditation, walking meditation, reflection, and tea.
Some background in mindfulness meditation (either MBSR or similar training) is helpful, however all are welcome.
The retreat day will begin at 9:00 am and end at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 10 at the historic First Parish Church located in Concord, Massachusetts
In the tradition of day long Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction retreats, we will spend the day in silence with attention on cultivating mindfulness. We will be using a lovely, large room (the chapel), at First Parish which is a sunny,open space with a separate entrance that leads to a terrace and outdoor walking labyrinth.
Format for the day:
9:00 am arrival and introductions
9:30-10:00 am sitting meditation (or body scan)
10:00-10:30 am walking meditation (or yoga)
10:30-11:00 sitting meditation
11:00-11:30 walking meditation
11:30-12:30 pm silent lunch/rest
12:30-1:00pm metta meditation (loving kindness)
1:00-1:45 pm reflections/tea
1:45-2:00 pm close
What to bring:
- bag lunch/drink/water
- meditation cushion or bench (if you use one, chairs will be available)
- yoga mat or blanket
- water bottle
- layered comfortable clothing
- journal or sketch pad, if desired
