Group MBSR Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (8 session program)

Stress is an inevitable occurrence in our fast paced lives and society. While we cannot eliminate stress in our lives, we can learn to shift from reaction to responsiveness by incorporating mindfulness training.

The gold-standard of stress reduction and mindfulness training programs at hospitals and universities, this 8-week course is modeled after the internationally-recognized program established in 1979 at the of Massachusetts Medical School by Jon Kabat-Zinn. During the course participants will be introduced to and practice various types of guided mindfulness meditation exercises and techniques, including gentle body stretches and self-inquiry exercises.

Upon completion of mindfulness training participants typically report a reduction of stress related symptoms, increased resilience, awareness and concentration, as well as improved coping strategies.
